Versatile Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a short or long sleeved sweater in stockinette, with gathered details across the left and right sides of the yoke. The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo knitting book no. 102, which included women’s sweater patterns from the 1940s. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust, with instructions to size up to a 36 inch bust.

Materials required for jumper:

• 6-8 skeins Sun-Glo shrinkproof 3-ply fingering wool. This can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a tension of 7 stitches x 9 rows, to 1 x 1 inches of knitting. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.

• 3 small buttons.

• 1 crochet hook.
