Tailored Elegance Cardigan

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a long sleeved cardigan with a tailored silhouette, and ribbing details to create a fitted look throughout. The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo knitting book no. 102, which included women’s sweater patterns from the 1940s. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust, with instructions to size up to a 36 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 9 skeins Sun-Glo shrinkproof sports wool, or 12 skeins Wilga blanket wool. This can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a tension of 9 stitches x 12 rows, to 2 x 2 inches of knitting. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 6/5mm.

• 7 buttons.
