Roadside Jacket and Skirt

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a lovely jacket and skirt combination. The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo Knitting Book Series 73. This book is from the 1940s and features women’s frocks, or jacket and skirt combinations. 

The size is for a 32-34 inch bust, however includes instructions on how to alter the sizes with choices from a 36” bust, 40” bust or 44” bust. 

Materials required:

• 12 (jacket) or 11 (skirt) skeins Sun-Glo Shrinkproof or Sunbeam 4 ply crochet wool. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 13 sitches x 17 rows for a 2 x 2" square.
• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm. 
• Crochet hook. 
• 1 button. 
• Press studs.
• Petersham belting.
