Piquant Sequin Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for short sleeved sweater with colour-blocking separating the body from the yoke in a lovely sweetheart shape. The yoke and sleeves are decorated with contrasting sequins which are sewn on once the sweater is completed. The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo knitting book no. 102, which included women’s sweater patterns from the 1940s. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust, with instructions to size up to a 36 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 3 skeins Sun-Glo shrinkproof 4-ply fingering weight or crochet wool in the main colour (black), and 3 skeins of the yoke colour (aqua). This can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a tension of 7 stitches x 9 rows, to 1 x 1 inches of knitting. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.

• 1 crochet hook. 

• Press studs.
