Nonchalant Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for short or long sleeved sweater, mostly in stockinette, apart from an interesting textured panel across the front yoke and the bottom ribbing. This would be a great pattern to adapt to knit in the round! The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo knitting book no. 102, which included women’s sweater patterns from the 1940s. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust, with instructions to size up to a 36 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 8-10 skeins Sun-Glo shrinkproof 4-ply fingering weight or crochet wool. This can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a tension of 13 stitches x 17 rows, to 2 x 2 inches of knitting. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.

• 1 crochet hook. 

• 3 small buttons.
