Man's Vest and Pullover

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a men’s jumper with cable details, a v-neck and deep ribbing. The sweater can be made either as a sleeveless vest, or with long sleeves. The pattern is taken from the Lux Book of 1950, a collection of family patterns including women’s, men’s and children’s garments. 

This pattern is made to fit a 38-40 inch chest. 

Materials required for leggings:

• 9-12 ozs 4-ply wool. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 7 stitches x 10 rows for 1 x 1 inches in pattern. 

• Knitting needles size UK 9/3.75mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm. 

• DPNS size UK 13/2.25mm. 

• 1 cable needle.
