Leggings with Matching Jumper

This is a vintage knitting pattern for a baby jumper with matching leggings/overalls with an enclosed foot. The pattern is taken from the Lux Book of 1950, a collection of family patterns including women’s, men’s and children’s garments. 

Materials required for leggings:

• 2 ozs sports wool. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 5.5 stitches x 7 rows for 1 x 1 inches in pattern. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 7/4.5mm. 

• 2 buttons.

• Length of narrow elastic - 8 inches.

• 2 ozs sports wool in main colour, 2 oz in contrast colour. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 5.5 stitches x 7 rows for 1 x 1 inches in pattern. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 7/4.5mm. 

• 4 small buttons.

• 1 crochet hook.
