La Conga

This is a vintage knitting pattern for La Conga, a sweet long sleeved jumper with a classic ribbed neckline and some positive ease around the torso. The pattern is taken from the Patons & Baldwins knitting book no. 222. This book is from the 1940s and features sweaters and jumpers for women. 

There are two sizes, for a 32 and 34 inch bust. Note: There are 8 stitches difference between sizes, and adding 8 stitches to each front and back should increase the size by 2" in bust. 

Materials required:

• 8-9 ozs Patons ‘Azalea’ crochet yarn. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 8 stitches to the inch in width.
• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.
• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.
• Cotton wool
