Harmonious Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for short or long sleeved sweater with a colourwork motif across the body and sleeves. The pattern is taken from the Sun-Glo knitting book no. 102, which included women’s sweater patterns from the 1940s. 

This pattern is made to fit a 32-34 inch bust, with instructions to size up to a 36 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 7-9 skeins Sun-Glo shrinkproof 4-ply fingering weight or crochet wool in the main colour, and 2 skeins in the contrast colour. This can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a tension of 15 stitches x 18 rows, to 2 x 2 inches of knitting. 

• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.

• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.

• 1 crochet hook. 

• Press studs.
