Gala Puff Sleeve Sweater

This is a vintage knitting pattern for Gala, a lovely striped puff sleeve sweater with a button closure at the front collar. The pattern is taken from the Patons & Baldwins Style Knitting Book. This book is from the late 1930s and features sweaters and jumpers for women. 

This is for a 32 inch bust.

Materials required:

• 8 ozs Patons ‘Super Scotch’ 4 ply fingering weight yarn. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 6.5 stitches to the inch in width.
• Knitting needles size UK 8/4mm.
• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.
• 2 buttons. 
• Stitch holder
