Circular Yoke Contrast Sweater

This is a pattern for a short sleeve sweater with ribbing on the hem of the body and sleeves, and a wonderful two-colour ribbed circular yoke. The pattern is taken from the Woolworths Economy Knitting Book no. 23. This book is from the 1940s and features women’s and men’s clothing items, including sweaters, cardigans and dresses. 

The size is for a 32-34 inch bust. 

Materials required:

• 8-10 skeins Woolworth’s Super 4-ply fingering wool. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 13 stitches x 17 rows for 2 x 2”. 
• Knitting needles size UK 10/3.25mm.
• Knitting needles size UK 12/2.75mm.  
• Crochet hook. 
• 5 buttons.
