Cable Pattern Cardigan with Large Buttons

This is a pattern for a lovely cardigan with large feature buttons and an all over cable texture. The pattern is taken from the Woolworths Economy Knitting Book no. 23. This book is from the 1940s and features women’s and men’s clothing items, including sweaters, cardigans and dresses. 

The size is for a 32-34 inch bust. 

Materials required:

• 8 skeins Sun-Glo Shrinkproof Sports wool. This wool can be substituted with modern materials to achieve a gauge of 5 stitches x 6 rows for 1 x 1”. 
• Knitting needles size UK 6/5mm. 
• 8 buttons.
